Community Connector Program

7th Infantry Division is committed to building and sustaining strong relationships with local communities in the South Puget Sound area. The Community Connector Program partners 7th Infantry Division units with local communities for mutual support and to build lasting ties between service-members and civilian neighbors.

Currently, our 6 brigades are partnered with the following communities in the South Puget Sound area:

2nd Stryker Brigade Combat Team is partnered with the city of Lakewood

3rd Stryker Brigade Combat Team is partnered with the city of Lacey

16th Combat Aviation Brigade is partnered with the cities of Tacoma and University Place

17th Field Artillery Brigade is partnered with the cities of Olympia and Tumwater

555th Engineer Brigade is partnered with the city of Roy

201st Battlefield Surveillance Brigade is partnered with the city of Gig Harbor

The Program goals are to:

Increase interaction between JBLM and local communities.

  • Enhance understanding of today's Army and JBLM.
  • Develop and maintain strong and positive community partnerships.

The unit senior level commander serves as the unit representative for their partnered communities, attending local community meetings and events. Communities can request a variety of support from their partnered units, including: honor and color guards, rifle and firing details, marching units, guest speakers, community leader visits and tours.
