The mission of the Casualty Assistance Office is to provide assistance to the grieving families of deceased military personnel, active duty and retired, by providing the final demonstration of our nationís gratitude to those who faithfully defend our country in peace and war.
The Joint Base Lewis-McChord Army Mortuary Affairs maintains three post cemeteries in the Pacific Northwest. Personnel eligible for burial are retired and active duty service members and their authorized dependents. Current burials are based on cemetery location:
FORT LEWIS POST CEMETERY ACCESS PROCEDURES FOR NON-DOD ID CARD HOLDERS
A search of interment will be conducted to verify the interment of the individual within Fort Lewisís Post Cemetery. Upon positive verification of interment, the requesting party will be granted access after all individuals and their vehicles are cleared through the Provost Marshall.
