Environmental Impact Analysis (EIA)

Environmental Assessment for Military Fueling Facilities

The Department of the Army, in coordination with the Defense Logistics Agency, proposes to construct three retail fuel facilities on sites within the boundaries of Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM), Washington. In addition, three older fuel facilities that are no longer up to standard or required will be demolished.
The proposed action includes three separable construction projects: 1) Lewis-Main Retail “Superstation”, 2) Lewis-North Retail Station, and 3) GAAF Bulk Fuel Storage and Hot Refuel. Construction of fuel depots at the Lewis-Main Superstation and Gray Army Airfield hot refuel area would include demolition of the existing infrastructure.
An Environmental Assessment and draft Finding of No Significant Impact were prepared for this action and made available for public review and comment. Final versions of these documents can be found to the right.
